On 21 August 2019 Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán welcomed former Prime Minister of Canada and current president of the International Democrat Union Stephen Harper in his office in Budapest.
According to the Hungarian Prime Minister’s press chief, during the discussions, at which both chief of cabinet Antal Rogán and state secretary for family and youth affairs Katalin Novák were present from the Hungarian side, the partners touched upon current global affairs, as well as the possibilities of developing bilateral Canadian-Hungarian cultural relations.
According to the press chief, the International Democrat Union counts more than 80 center-right parties from 60 countries among its members.
