Welcome to the website of the Embassy of Hungary in Ottawa.
It is a pleasure and an honour for me to represent our nation as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Canada.
Our two countries are bound together by a myriad of increasingly connected threads. Notably among these ee must highlight the 320,000+ Canadians that identify themselves as being of Hungarian heritage. From coast to coast, one may often find the names of Hungarians included amidst those that have significantly contributed to Canada’s development over the past century. Canada is home to the second largest Hungarian diaspora population outside of Europe. Accordingly, it is our duty to support the preservation of their national identity, the cultivation of their traditions, and their native language, thus helping them to pass on the gift of our culture to future generations. Beyond any doubt, this crucial undertaking would not be possible without the deeply valued collaboration of Hungarian-Canadian community organizations.
I am hopeful that during my term as Ambassador, Hungarian-Canadian relations will not only deepen, but also lead us to unseen heights by opening the doors to new frontiers of cooperation. The Embassy’s priority mission is to support the expansion of economic and scientific partnerships, create new opportunities for joint projects, and cultivate artistic, cultural, and educational ties between our countries.
