On the occasion of the commemoration of 1956, Ambassador Bálint Ódor unveiled the plaque of 1956 donated by the Embassy of Hungary at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax. Peter Pickersgill, son of the late Jack Pickersgill Minister for Immigration also attended the event and spoke about the role of his father in the decision of Canada to receive 37.500 Hungarian refugees following the uprising of 1956. The plaque was installed on the Wadih M. Fares Wall of Tribute on November 8th.
