George Mihalka - Dr. Lucille

Director George Mihalka is known for the ease with which he moves from drama to comedy in theatrical features and television, in English and French. George’s films, television movies, miniseries and episodic work have been honoured with over 50 awards and nominations in Canada, the United States, and around the world.
His international features include the cult horror classic MY BLOODY VALENTINE, and BULLET TO BEIJING, starring Sir Michael Caine and Sir Michael Gambon. BLUEMAN won the prestigeous PRIX DE PUBLIC prize at the Avoriaz Fantastic Film Fest in France. In Quebec he is known for the box office hits LA FLORIDA, L’HOMME IDEAL, LES BOYS IV, and the smash hit mini series SCOOP, OMERTA, L’HAUTE SURVEILLANCE.
Television series credits include multiple episodes of the award winning dramas DaVINCI’S INQUEST and JOZI-H (CBC). His long-form television credits include the Gemini Award winning Dr. LUCILLE (CTV), starring Louis Gossett Jr. and Marina Orsini, and STICKS AND STONES (CTV), starring David Sutcliffe. Winner of the Shaw Rocket Prize for Best Canadian Youth and Family Film, Sticks and Stones also won Best Foreign Feature Drama at the Los Angeles International Family Film Festival and earned Gemini nominations for Direction and Best Film.
George’s latest TV series, 24 HOUR RENTAL, a caustic gangster satire aired on SUPERCHANNEL to rave reviews in Canada and the U.S. He was Director/Execuctive Producer of all 13 episodes.
